I'm interested in spending 6months to a year at sea. I'm in Canada and know nothing about how to go about the process. I've tried searching but nothing specific comes up; only sites regarding veterans and WWII ships. I know in the U.S., people obtain certification through the Coast Guard first.
Any direction to companies, online forums, or gov't sites regarding this matter would be helpful. Alternate opinions on ways to spend time on sea are also welcome. |

Lots of BS !! (know what I mean !!) its very hard to get on.. if you think your going to just walk on a ship forget it .
its like every thing today everything and everyone has to be certifcated and its all based on Seniority Rod 27 years on ships ...( 5 years waiting for telephone to ring I not kidding ) better off joining the navy Last edited by Rod : 08-03-2010 at 03:45 AM. |
